Fire and incidents
Fire
A fire can start in any room; worn rooms and plant rooms are more at risk. It grows every minute, damages the room and can spread to the rooms beside, above and below it.
- The Fire Control Room runs sprinklers for 15 floors up and down. Sprinklers slow a fire down and make it far less likely to start or spread. Without them a fire can burn for three quarters of an hour and take out several rooms; with them it is usually out within minutes.
- The fire brigade arrives about 16 minutes after the fire starts and helps put it out.
- Everyone evacuates by the stairs: nobody uses the elevators, and nobody goes in until the fire is out. Afterwards people return to work or home.
When the fire is out, the repairs are charged, repair jobs open for your technicians, tenants in badly damaged units leave, and your reputation drops.

Following an incident
A banner above the status pill tells you what is happening. Show moves the camera to the fire. The Incidents panel (⌥⌘I) lists fires in progress, with when the brigade arrives, and the last twelve incidents.
Keep technicians on staff: every incident leaves repair work behind (see Utilities and staff).
